As usual we here at Project Earth have a very different picture of what is going on than that which the corporate media are feeding the American public and for that matter the rest of the world through it's orifices such as CNN International.
What is fascinating about all of this is the way in which the official "media" try to make it look like they are pursuing the truth and yet at the same time demonstrating utterly no IQ for connecting the most obvious dots. Take today April 3, 2007 for example.
President Bush tells Americans that we must break our addiction to oil. The day after the United States Supreme Court adjudicated against his administration and his environmental policies or lack thereof (link) he is suddenly demanding stricter mileage standards from car manufacturers and chiding the People about our addiction to oil. Hmmm...
What is missing from this picture is a speech made by Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah II last week at the meeting of the Arab League. King Abdullah II flatly denounced the Bush Administration and sounded very nonaligned with our foreign policy. "In our beloved Iraq, blood is shed among brothers under illegitimate foreign occupation and detestable sectarianism that raises the threat of a civil war," the king said.
Some newspapers in the United States picked up the story but it received precious little coverage over all. This is especially true when considering the fact that the King also cancelled a scheduled official state dinner at the White House where he was to be the honored guest. No wonder King George is worried. Our number one source of fossil fuels just told us to get out of Iraq.
Saudi Arabia needs the US uber-market far less than in the past. China and other nations can easily make up for much any lost consumption by Americans. As author and urban planner Howard Kunstler said in a talk I was fortunate to hear a couple of weeks ago, "The days of happy motoring may end far sooner than the vast majority of Americans would ever dream." Happy motoring indeed...
In addition to this really bad news for George Bush and the cult of "happy motorists" there is another underlying back story regarding the upcoming conflict with Iran. There is far more to this story than the fact that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is a complete moron who thinks that the Holocaust never happened or even that he was stupid enough to take the fifteen pieces of bait that Tony Blair and his subservient commanders offered up. That is just the obvious part.
What we are not hearing much about is the fact that Mahmoud has made it a policy of his government that they will no longer accept US dollars in exchange for oil. This is by the way a growing trend among many nations. More and more nations do not want our money. They want gold or euros (especially gold) but not Federal Reserve notes. Too much debt there George... too much debt, too many lies.
In the mean time, we here at Project Earth want to say "thank you" to the five members of the Supreme Court who stood up for the earth and her people against the crumbling hegemony in Washington. Thank goodness they didn't vote the other way. We also want to thank King Abdullah II for finally saying in public what we have known all along. See George run...you addicts.
